These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CoverShift mobile application and related services ("App"), operated by PLAYRIOT LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
CoverShift is a shift coverage management tool for small teams. Managers create a business workspace and invite employees. Employees post shifts they need covered, coworkers claim them, and managers approve. The App includes scheduling, push notifications, optional clock-in tracking, weekly timesheets, time-off and availability management, and (on Pro) geofence enforcement, labor cost tracking, and audit trails.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the App. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your Apple ID secure. Authentication is handled exclusively by Sign in with Apple; you are responsible for all activity under your account.
Managers who create a business are responsible for ensuring they have authority to enter these Terms on behalf of that business and for the conduct of employees they invite.

CoverShift offers a free tier and an optional Pro subscription ("Pro"). Pro unlocks advanced features such as unlimited employees, geofence enforcement, Smart Fill suggestions, labor cost tracking, labor budget projections, recurring shift templates, batch approvals, cross-role coverage, and audit trail on time-entry edits.
Billing. Pro subscriptions are sold and billed exclusively through Apple's App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
Refunds. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policy at support.apple.com/billing. PLAYRIOT LLC does not process refunds for App Store purchases directly.
Free tier. We may change the features included in the free tier at any time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of material reductions.
You retain ownership of content you submit to the App, including business names, shift descriptions, notes, and team configuration ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the App and provide the service to you and your business's members.
You are responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit Your Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Data within a business workspace is isolated by server-side authorization checks so that only members of that business can access it. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the App, or by contacting [email protected].
The App, including its design, code, trademarks, and content (other than Your Content), is owned by PLAYRIOT LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.
The App integrates with third-party services including Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store, StoreKit, Push Notifications) and our cloud backend infrastructure. Your use of the App is also subject to those third parties' terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us, or engaged in fraudulent or harmful behavior. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
Upon termination, your right to use the App ends. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. CoverShift is a scheduling tool; it does not provide legal, HR, or payroll advice. You are solely responsible for compliance with applicable labor, wage, and employment laws.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLAYRIOT LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PLAYRIOT LLC from any claim, demand, loss, or damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the App, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you download the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and PLAYRIOT LLC, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. The standard Apple End User License Agreement applies to your use of the App from the App Store.
